Nov 15, 2004 Bodyweight Exercise Books – "Get Naked" Resistance Training
There are many different bodyweight exercise books available, but depending on what you are looking for in terms of exercises, or workouts, you may find that your selection of exercise books (using bodyweight techniques) is limited. Currently, one of the more popular bodyweight books is “The Naked Warrior” by Pavel; however, there are other authors who offer many of the same workouts and exercises in their books, but in a different format. Ultimately, the final decision will depend upon how much money you want to spend and whether or not you like the style and layout of the book. In the end, you want to learn how to use your own bodyweight for resistance training in the most efficient way possible. “The Naked Warrior” bodyweight exercise book provides practical training exercises that will work every muscle of your body, without the use of equipment, machines or weights. Pavel, a Russian strength expert, reveals the secrets of instant power generation, and the methodology of how to combine exercises in order to create explosive workout routines. Pavel's writing style has been quoted as “direct, honest, and boiled down to essentials”, which makes it easy to follow and less cumbersome to read. The book presents ideas as simple science. It offers readers and fitness enthusiasts a way to explore the power of breathing and how the body/mind connection can help us become stronger or fitter than we have ever been. In the eight chapters that comprise this book, you will find a wealth of information, as well as the tools you will need to build a stronger and functionally fitter body. “Pushing Yourself To Power” – John Peterson’s Bodyweight RoutinesAnother individual who promotes bodyweight training in his book, “Pushing Yourself To Power”, is John Peterson. Many reviews consider this book to be the “ultimate training system” if you are looking to enhance your athletic ability, or simply firm up and build muscle. The book teaches individuals how to use the world’s oldest strength training exercises in a variety of sequences in order to create superior strength and stamina. The philosophy behind the techniques used in the book represent ancient training methods that guarantee success. It’s a complete workout for either the beginner, or trained athlete. Both books have a considerable amount of reviews done on them. Of course for every five good reviews there is bound to be a negative one; however, it seemed that most of the critical reviews challenged the layout or style of the book and not the exercises, or workouts provided. If you’re seeking new bodyweight exercises and routines, or are interested in how this ancient practice can help change your life, then perhaps you should look into buying one of the above books. Whether it works for you, or not, the information you gain is never a waste and there is no harm done in trying something new to change your life for the better.
