Aug 4, 2004 Workout Pants – What Do Your Pants Say About You?
Okay, we’ve all seen them. They’ve got an elastic waste band, are baggy in the thighs and then taper down the leg. They usually come in some horrible pattern and in some pretty awful colors. What exactly am I talking about? They are workout pants – specifically, men’s workout pants. While a plain black or blue workout pant can be found (I’ve seen them), for some reason men continue to purchase the loudest pants possible for their weightlifting workout. What exactly are they trying to communicate by buying these pants? Well, here are a few ideas. First there is the stars and stripes workout pant. The man who chooses the wear the stars and stripes is obviously very patriotic and therefore chooses to express and illustrate his national pride on his workout pants. Bright colored stars line one side of the pant leg, while red strips adorn the other. These pants are loud and proud. Men who wear these pants take note: while we appreciate the love you have for your country, you look like a walking, talking flag and could easily be mistaken for one in the gym. Another workout pant disaster are the black wax workout pants. Done in black gray and white (which one would think isn’t that bad), these pants look as though someone took a melting candle them. With long dark lines all squiggled together these pants seem to illustrate an inner appreciation for abstract art. Unfortunately, if you look at them for too long, they make your eyes go cross-eyed; therefore, men, you should avoid these pants, as they are a hazard for others who are working out at the same gym. The flame dragon special are workout pants that seem to communicate a passion for martial arts or scary fairy tales. With its black fabric background and bright red flames, these pants tell a story of their own. The man who wears these pants is fearless and strong – or at least wants others to think this way about him; therefore, they are potentially misleading and others should take caution. It’s not easy to find a pair of workout pants that someone won’t make fun of. It almost seems as though they are made to be loud and tacky. The good news is, however, there are options. But then again, as long as you’re comfortable and like the look, then it doesn’t really matter what anyone else thinks about your fitness wear. About The Author:
