May 31, 2004 Olympic Weight Lifting Benches – For Serious Weightlifting
Olympic weight lifting benches are a flat black board usually covered in leather fabric whereby you lay down and lift free weights, right? Well, if someone were to ask me what a weight lifting bench was, this would be the description I would have given. While some aspects of my description may be true (namely, the flat and leather parts) I soon discovered that there is a vast variety of benches on the market and it is important to take the time and consider your exercise goals before purchasing this important piece of fitness equipment. When working out with free weights it is very important to have an Olympic weight lifting bench as it provides you with support and allows you to perform a large variety of weight lifting routines and exercises. From Multi-Purpose To Flat; A Style For Every Fitness LevelOne of the most popular types available is the multi-purpose bench because it enables you to do a multitude of exercises simply by switching the attachments provided and by adjusting the flat back to a different incline position. These types of benches can be found under many different brand names, it just depends on what you are willing to spend and what options you are looking for. Other types of Olympic weight benches are targeted for specific exercise routines. For example, you may want a bench where you can work on your biceps and triceps. Well, there are some that are specifically designed for those exercises. There are also weightlifting benches for leg extensions and curls, or benches for abdominal crunches and hip extensions. The variety is truly endless and it becomes incumbent upon you to know what it is you are looking for. Before purchasing an Olympic bench, consider your exercise and weight lifting goals. Where do you want to be and how do you want to look? Then research the different brands available and talk to people who are knowledgeable and can help guide you to a smart purchase. It is without question that if you lift free weights you need a good quality bench – you just have to decide which of the 17 varieties is right for you!
