Nov 1, 2005 Weightlifting Wrist Straps – Support Your Wrists While You Lift
Anyone who plans on weightlifting should make sure that they have the right equipment. A good set of weightlifting wrist straps should be included with your other weightlifting equipment in order to make sure that you do not suffer from grip fatigue and to help prevent injuries while you are lifting weights. You will maximize your workouts if your grip does not give out (grip fatigue) before you are finished your sets. A weightlifting wrist strap should be sturdy enough to support your wrist while you're lifting weights. While straps are not needed for novice body builders who start out with light weights, you should look into purchasing straps when you start lifting heavy weights. There are several brands that you should think about. The brand that you eventually end up buying should match your own personal needs. For instance, TKO lifting straps are generally on the lower end as far as price goes. These are still high quality lifting straps, however, and if you're just starting out, they are a great choice. Weight Lifting Straps – Many Popular Brands and Styles to Choose FromIf you have more money to spend on your wrist straps, then you should look at some of the other brands. For instance Schiek weightlifting straps will fit your wrists well and even come with a lock-on dowel - which means that you will be able to keep a strong grip on your weights. You can also look at Harbinger wrist straps. These straps come padded, so they will be more comfortable around your wrists than some of the more basic models. Padded wrist straps are a good idea if you are planning on doing a lot of heavy weight lifting. Also, make sure that you pay attention to the widths and lengths listed for each strap - and make sure that the size you purchase will support your wrist and give you the grip that you need without getting in your way.
