In order to get the perfect six pack of abs you need to do much more than simply train your stomach with a series of abdominal exercises. Because sit-ups and crunches are anaerobic in nature, they burn more carbohydrates than they do fat; therefore, it is important to begin your journey to flatter abs by burning off any excess fat first. Once you’ve started to lose the fat from your body, you can begin to focus on your stomach and ways in which you can achieve those coveted abs of steel. All simple sugars should be eliminated, as well as limited intakes of dairy products. Once you’ve begun eating healthier and combined it with low-intensity, high-duration aerobic activities which work to burn off excess fat, your total body fat percentage will drastically decline. Once the body weight falls (below 8% for men, or 14% for women) then your abs will begin to show. Popular cardio activities to help strengthen muscles while helping people to lose weight include: walking, running, cycling, aerobics, Stairmasters etc…). Performing these activities on a regular basis, approximately 3 times per week, will elevate a person's metabolism and burn more calories to aid in fat loss. Incorporate ab training a few times per week by doing a variety of different crunches and maintain proper technique at all times. This combination of diet, aerobic training, and abdominal workouts, will guarantee anyone perfect abs. It’s All In The Technique – How To Get Tight AbsWhen training your abs it is important to practice proper technique. Not performing exercises properly can cost a lot of wasted minutes, achieving nothing in the end. When it comes to great abs contraction is everything. When performing abdominal crunches you need to concentrate on crunching your abs together like an accordion. Doing so, will maximize muscle tension and bring better results in the end. Another technique is to contract your muscles as tight as you can, which causes muscles to fatigue faster. It is not necessarily how many repetitions performed, as opposed to how hard the muscles are contracted. Abs should become fatigued after 20-25 reps if you are doing your workouts properly. If it takes the abs longer to get fatigued, then perhaps you should consider adding weights to your training.
