Good Abdominal Exercises - Easy Steps To Awesome Abs

If you have free weights, then chances are good that your arms are getting a good work out, and possibly even your legs. But what are you going to do about your abs? Luckily, the abdominal muscles are some of the easiest muscles to work on outside of a gym. You just need to know a few good abdominal exercises to start you off, and you'll have a stronger middle soon. While these exercises will not necessarily help you to lose fat from your stomach and abdomen, they will build up the muscles in that area and help you to have those fabled "six pack abs".

Crunches Are Some Of The Best Exercises

Crunches are one the best and easiest upper and lower ab exercises - assuming you do them correctly. There are many ways to do crunches or sit-ups incorrectly, and plenty of people will tell you to do them that way. However, you should make sure that you do these exercises the right way so that you will actually be building the muscles that you want to build, and so that you do not hurt yourself.

First, you should not force the stomach exercise so hard that you end up doing it jerkily. Jerky movements do not actually build muscle and are one of the easiest ways to give yourself an injury. You should always move slowly and in a controlled manner while you do this, or any of the other good exercises that are listed online. You should also make sure that you do not arch your back - keep it flat against the floor. There are plenty of other good ab exercises out there - and you should keep in mind that most of them should not need very much equipment. Most ab workouts will only need a floor pad to sit or lay on.

Some Of The Ab Exercise Variations Are:

For Upper Abs: Crunch with legs on bench, Swiss ball crunch, cross-over crunch, hands-overhead crunch, cable crunch and cable crossover crunches.

For Lower Abs: Reverse crunch, hanging leg raise, reverse crunch on incline, hanging hip thrusts, Swiss ball reverse crunches.
